Hosted every summer in one the Aegean’s most eye-catchingly unique islands, Milos Festival is now an institution, both literally and figuratively. But, like all institutions, it calls for the occasional rejuvenation. This is what our goal was when designing the Festival’s visuals, program booklet and banners.

As always – research, research, research! A thorough look into the island’s culture and history helped me find the perfect concept: what better way to mark the Festival’s 20-year anniversary than by celebrating two of Milos’ main pieces-de-resistance – its awesome volcanic landscape and its crystal-clear sea?

Inspired by fossils and incorporated into the photo of one of Milos’ most striking seascapes, the geometrical shapes represent how sunlight is reflected on the age-old rocks, and create an almost futuristic composition. The program booklet is printed in Greek and English, each side in reverse to the other.
