As with the Sanatorio Project Exhibition, this tome also draws inspiration from the Karamanis Sanatorium. It was edited by Dr. Gourgoulianis, Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Thessaly, and Annita Prassa, Director of the General State Archives of Magnesia, who also supervised the research.
Working closely with the two editors/curators, I designed a book that goes beyond showcasing the various records and artifacts: it creates a narrative, telling the fascinating story of both the Sanatorium and Dr. Karamanis himself through authentic photographs, documents, and letters from and to the facility.
Adopting the coffee table book format, the book is divided into two sections – the essays and the collection – which are themselves divided into different subsections, marked by a bright turquoise green. Both the images and the text serve the purpose of telling this fascinating story through the years and through various points of view.
